Which U.S. state are the San Juan Islands part of?

I love living in Washington, it's so beautiful. The San Juans are located in the Salish Sea. That's the inland waters that are connected to the Pacific Ocean via the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The Salish Sea includes Puget Sound, Hood Canal, and the water off the coast of Canada (think Vancouver Island).

I took that same picture of the lighthouse on San Juan Island during a trip to Vacation at my Nephew's house on the lovely Island...

Well worth the trip, and riding the ferry is a bonus.
